Customer Review: It's a carpet sweeper, not a vacuum - does exactly what it says.

I just got this Shark carpet sweeper and I didn't expect it do much of anything, based on all the reviews. However, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is not a vacuum - so if that is what you are looking for, buy something else. It is a motorized carpet sweeper. I have had the Bissel and Hokey carpet sweepers, and this does a better job than both of those on tile and slick surfaces. It does as good a job or better on carpet. So, since it does not advertise itself as a vacuum cleaner, but a carpet sweeper, it does exactly what it says it will do. I certainly am not going to try to use this for heavy cleaning - I will get out my big vacuum cleaner. But for in between times when something is spilled on the floor, there is cat litter scattered out of the cat box, someone tracks dirt/dust/leaves in from outside, it is perfect. It is lightweight and easy to get out and run over a particular spot for instant cleaning. I didn't really think I would be pleased with it, but I was surprised at how much cat hair and dirt/dust it picked up in just a few minutes. Since I got it for Mother's Day, I really wanted it to work and now I can honestly tell my husband that it does work and he won't have to take it back. I'm keeping it and plan on using it all the time for in between major vacuuming jobs.
